Kylie's Top 10 Music Videos
Editorial ReviewEditorial Review
Hand on Your Heart (1989)
They don't get much cheesier than this early music video from Kylie's Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) days. Primary-coloured halter-neck frocks with appliqued hearts, lots of bad gesturing (it's not really dancing) and a cheap-looking set. There was only one way for her to go… up!
Better the Devil You Know (1990)
Even though it was still a SAW song, this was the first time Kylie took control of her image - and metamorphosed from squeaky clean to sultry and sexy. Apparently, Michael Hutchence had a lot to do with that…
What Do I Have to Do (1991)
This is the one that moved her up to Sex Siren status, and the video had to be censored for Saturday morning television. Oh, and apart from featuring Kylie in a number of Hollywood guises, it also features sister Dannii.
Where is the Feeling? (1995)
Maybe not one of her better-known songs, but the black-and-white video has her swimming in the sea, taking the Sex Siren to a dark and brooding place. She likes getting wet, it seems…
Put Yourself in My Place (1995)
A cheeky pastiche on the opening titles to the '60s sci-fi film Barbarella, with Kylie shedding her astronaut outfit just like Jane Fonda did, this music video won the Australian Music Awards' Best Music Video.
Where the Wild Roses Grow (1995)
The ARIA-winning duet with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds saw Indie Kylie adopt a dark and gothic mood, complete with homage to Millais' Pre-Raphaelite painting, Ophelia, as she lies dead in an overgrown riverbed. As you do.
Did it Again (1997)
Cheeky Kylie has fun with her own image, as four versions of Kylie: Little Miss Chievious, Cute Kylie, Indie Kylie and Dance Kylie fight for supremacy. Such an Impossible Princess!
Spinning Around (2000)
Not only is this the song that saw Kylie's pop career revitalised overnight, it's also the one that features those famous gold hotpants. Move out of my way indeed!
Can't Get You Out of My Head (2001)
After the success of the album Light Years, Kylie hits her stride with this first single from the following album, Fever. It's classic Kylie stuff: the revealing white hooded outfit, the robotic dance moves, and team of sexy dancers behind her. No wonder we can't get her out of our heads!
Slow (2003)
Just in case you missed it at all, not only is Kylie a sultry Sex Goddess, but she's a hit with the gay boys as well - and this video has her seductively lounging poolside surrounded by a bevy of buff boys writhing around in Speedos - with a few girls chucked in for good measure. Go on and dance with me… yeah… slow!
