Curly's Bar

Editorial Review

Originally the Turks' Head Tavern, then the Bath Arms Inn, followed by the Tattersall's Hotel and Stables - Curly's Bar has the heritage to know a good drop.

Editorial Review

Adding a touch of nightclub style to Hobart, Curly's Bar has long been an interior designer's dream. Part of the Tattersall's Hotel, this casual drinking den is a funky alternative to the rest of the building's rooms, which all seem to retain some of the venue's more historic elements in some form. On weekends you can also get in some dancing, when resident DJs ply their trade with house, soul and funk tunes.

Dimly lit and simply styled, Curly's serves a range of tap and bottled beers from around the globe. All your favourite brews are on tap, while the fridge offers a little more choice for those wanting a tastebud trip to Europe or Mexico. Cocktails are also fast moving, seeing as the seating options favour those wanting to simply recline the night away. Mind you, with DJ talent regularly trucked in from the mainland, you may find yourself on the dancefloor.

And if the weather allows, the rooftop bar is ideal for all manner of outdoor shenanigans, although it does tend to get a little crowded over summer. Sunday sessions usually involve large groups sharing many a jug of beer.
