While it may not be much to look at on the outside, like most things in life, it's what's on the inside of the New Sydney Hotel that counts. Mind you, with the amount of paraphernalia on the walls, you may have trouble working out the latter. But if you're a sucker for Irish beer and live music, then you probably already frequent this cosy, little pub. If not, well, you've just found a new haunt for the months ahead.

Being (loosely) Irish-themed, Guinness, Kilkenny and Magners by the bottle will see you right for a drink. There're also many other tap beers available (Carlton Draught, Tooheys Old, VB and more) if you can't take your stout. Check the specials board for weekly wine recommendations as well.

The rooms upstairs are usually filled with travellers and backpackers, or even a wayward husband a little too fond of the drink. Naturally, this all makes for a fairly lively atmosphere, especially when folks have shrugged off the working week and want to get into some serious drinking and nosh. Speaking of which, you can grab a variety of meals from the kitchen, from lasagne or a chicken parma, to fresh fish and some pretty hefty steaks. Order up a plate, grab a beer and while away the hours as you enjoy some live folk or rock music at this favourite, little hotel.
